The future Mr. Darling & I are very excited and can't wait to be officially married later this year! (Which means this first few weeks of the year has been largely spent on wedding planning. WHICH IS A WEIRD THING because weddings are weird and sooo many choices.) ANYWAY, yes, we are actually 100% changing our name to The Darlings and that just makes my little heart explode. My idiot face loves his idiot face and I can't wait to spend the rest of forever together, being idiots. <3
SECOND, I have no idea what this year will bring for my creative career / career in general. I think I'll go more in-depth with this all in a separate post because it requires a bit more explanation, but also a bit more consideration on my side. But to the short, this year (or at least right now) is going to be heavily spent how I spent the last half of 2017: focusing on healing and dealing with my mental and physical health. So I do know that at least for now, my shop will remain closed, and I'm only going to take on very small client projects here and there. Doing what I can, when I can. But I'm going to continue to draw and share my work and life with you here and on Instagram. Otherwise, I definitely have no idea what 2018 holds for me career-wise.
Other things of note:
+ I am slowly going through my entire house, rearranging things, decluttering, and trying to find a way to keep. it. clean. My house is nearly always a disaster zone (see: always a disaster zone) and I would love to have a tidy home, if nothing else but to let my head and heart breathe a bit easier in my safe-space.
+ I've been drinking lots and lots of tea, mainly herbal and the like. I've almost completely switched to decaf coffee, but yes, for the most part, drinking tea.
+ Currently reading a book about Hygge (which I'm sure you've heard of by now, but I don't care how trendy it is. It's a legit thing and I'm in love.) I especially love that the book I'm reading is more about the science of it. It's like the science of happiness and how to live more fully?? Idk, I'll share more once I've finished it, but so far 10/10 would recommend looking into it.
+ I'm 100% using my iPad Pro for everything now. It's saving my wrist and hand so much (you can adjust the pressure sensitivity, so I'm not having to press hard AT ALL to get the same kind of lines I like.)
+ It's mid-January and I haven't even really considered taking my Christmas tree down. I think we should start a bet on how long it will take me to take it down ;)
+ I'm OBSESSED Keaton Henson right now. He's sad, moody, heartfelt and just sooo good. I've also fallen back in love with Sam Smith & Frightened Rabbit.
Ok, ok, that's enough for now I think. How are you? What's been going on in your world?
