Hello, my love!
First thing's first: sketchbook prompts. For right now, I think I'm going to put this list with 15 prompts up and then add a second list later. Next month, I'll try and do a full month on one list?? But anyway, I'm going to be doing these and I would LOVE for you to join me! You can pick any of the prompts in any order, just please use the hashtag #darlingdrawings and tag me so I can see! I'll do a round up post to share some of them each month, I think :)
This week has been... intense. Filing taxes for two of us, working on getting new car, home AND health insurance, paying debts off, prepping for my class that starts next week (I'm teaching Intro to Adobe Illustrator) and a bunch of other admin-type things.
Also, wedding planning. I'm assured that it's completely normal, (even my dad has had one now), but I'm having weird wedding dreams. Like us forgetting to plan the entire thing until the day before, and my sister showing up in a prettier dress the one I made out of towels and then when she switched with me, it didn't fit me right and we totally forgot to plan our honeymoon and ended up going to stay with grandparents we never met, who only ate garlic. Soooo..... basically wedding planning is weird & is messing with my head.
But basically, it's just been a weird-a-bit-too-grown-up-for-my-tastes-week. You ever have one of those?
Other things of note this week:
+ I had a lemon & vanilla phosphorous soda and it was strange and delightful.
+ I picked up a few beautifully designed wedding magazines just to flip through & keep, maybe art journal with... they're stunning
+ I'm considering starting a small blog somewhere dedicated to wedding planning. Because I'm learning so much and I think it might be cool to look back on in the years to come, if nothing else? Not sure though.
+ Finally watched the new Blade Runner. I have a lot of feelings (the first film is easily one of my top 5 fav films) but like... I may like this one better? I'm not sure yet. I need to watch it a few more times. I will say, it's the only film I've ever enjoyed Ryan Goslings character in. (hides, sorry! I just don't like him much!)
+ I've been doing lots of research on myths and legends of various cultures and of various levels of popularity (like known pieces vs. unknown) and I'm almost terrified to start this project. SO many amazing options and stories to tell. Like I'm considering putting it off for now because honestly, I'm just overwhelmed by it. ANDDD I just finished the first half of this month's prompt list for us to all work on, so I may just focus on that for now. Or both? Who knows.
How was your week?
